Hey everyone,
I recently started Martial Arts training (MMA & Muay Thai) and have been to the gym for several years before (but not jacked) and did basic resistance training. I really feel like I am stiff and slow and would love to change this and become a quick, agile fighter, especially because I enjoy watching the lower weight classes and their quickness.
Is anyone of you experienced in exercising specifically for my goals to add into my gym routines or add additional solo training styles for the gym?
Thanks a lot in advance!
Tobi from Germany
I would recommend super setting your strength exercises with explosive movement and plyometrics. We use this style of lifting as we get close to fights to make sure we are hitting fast with maximum power.
Examples:
Back/Front Squat - followed by hurdle jumps
Bench press - followed by medball throws
- Bazooka Joe
